This month, for National Principal Appreciation Month, we celebrate Dr. King, our Mama Bear, a principal who pours her heart and soul into every Tready Bear every single day. Her dedication, care, and unwavering support create a school family where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow. From guiding teachers to cheering on students, she leads with compassion, vision, and love. We are so lucky to have a leader who truly makes Treadway Elementary a place where every bear can thrive! 💙🐻💚

💚✨ Last week, Treadway Elementary proudly celebrated Start With Hello Week! ✨💚

Our students and staff came together to learn the importance of kindness, inclusion, and making sure that no one ever feels alone. By teaching our children to see something, say something, and always start with hello, we’re helping to create a safer, more connected school community.

This annual event is part of the Sandy Hook Promise, and it was truly amazing to see our campus come alive with activities, smiles, and new friendships. 💬👋

We are so excited to share this collage of moments from the week with our families—thank you for supporting our efforts to build a culture of kindness at Treadway! 🌟

Our faculty and staff rounded out Round 1 of testing with a sweet celebration! 🍎 An Apple Bar during PLTs was the perfect way to honor Johnny Appleseed Day and remind us that a strong core equals sweet success! 💪🎉

By taking small actions—like noticing when someone is alone and reaching out with a simple “hello”—we can prevent loneliness, build friendships, and make sure every student feels like they belong. 🌟

These small connections also play a big role in keeping our schools safe. When students look out for one another, it helps prevent isolation and creates a community where problems are noticed early—before they can turn into something bigger. 🛡️✨

When a student misses so many days that they are chronically absent (10% or more days) it means the lack of engagement in learning is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed. Chronic absence affects all kids, not just the absent ones. #HereTodayReadyforTomorrow

Health-related absences are a top reason students miss school, yet sometimes they can be avoided. Partner with health providers to keep students healthy and in school! #HereTodayReadyforTomorrow

Thank you to our local businesses and community members who joined us for Paws & Partnerships today! It was a powerful day of connection and collaboration as we shared how Treadway moved from a C to an A and explored ways we can continue to grow together.
