>>COMFORT STATION
Lake County has opened a comfort station at the Butler Street Boat Ramp (55400 Butler St, Astor) to support residents impacted by Hurricane Milton.
Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. These comfort stations will provide easy access to:
• Internet
• Charging stations for phones and other small devices
• Laundry machines
• Showers, bathrooms, and handwashing stations
Residents need to bring their own charging cables, detergents, and soaps.

7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Residents should bring their own shovels and must fill their bags.
Sand and bags will be provided.

Lake County has opened a comfort station at Pine Forest Park (32520 State Road 44, Deland) to support residents in the Lake Mack area impacted by Hurricane Milton.
Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. These comfort stations will provide easy access to:
- Internet
- Charging stations for phones and other small devices
- Laundry machines
- Showers, bathrooms, and handwashing stations
Residents need to bring their own charging cables, detergents, and soaps.
To help residents from Lake Mack travel to the site, Lake County is providing a shuttle from the Forest Hill Community Center to the park. The shuttle will transport residents back and forth every 30 minutes.
- The first trip from Forest Hills Community Center to Comfort Center at Pine Forest Park is at 8 a.m.
- The last trip from Forest Hills Community Center to Comfort Center at Pine Forest Park is at 4:30 p.m.
- The last return trip from the Comfort Center at Pine Forest Park to the Community Center is at 5 p.m.

October 23rd is Parent Conference Night at Spring Creek Charter. This week you will receive notifications from teachers on your scheduled time to attend. Before and after your conference you are welcome to join the fun during our trail of treats event. This event is for Spring Creek Charter students only. We hope to see you there!


October Look for the Awesome Awards were awarded at SCCS Morning Meeting this morning. Congratulations to Coach Roberts, Coach Maple, and our middle school students!

Take -A-Veteran to School program is coming to Spring Creek Charter on November 8th. Take a look at the information and share for those that wish to attend. We are looking forward to this event!

Congratulations to Ms. Trisha Hunsinger! She has been chosen by her fellow teachers to represent Spring Creek Charter School as our 2025 Teacher of the Year!!
Ms. Hunsinger is currently our 4th Grade Team Leader. She has spent her whole teaching career here at SCCS! Ms. Hunsinger was our Rookie Teacher of the Year back in 2020. We are very fortunate to have Ms. Hunsinger as a part of the Spring Creek Charter School family!!


Congratulations to Mr. Scott Sebree who has been selected by his fellow teachers to represent Spring Creek Charter School as our 2025 Rookie Teacher of the Year!!
This is Mr. Sebree's second year with us at Spring Creek. He is part of our 3rd Grade team! Spring Creek is fortunate to have Mr. Sebree as part of our family!

Red Ribbon Week is approaching at Spring Creek Charter School. Red Ribbon Week is a week-long campaign that raises awareness about drug and violence prevention in the United States. It takes place annually in October and is the longest-running and largest drug awareness program in the country. Go to this link for more information: https://www.redribbon.org/about
We hope that our families participate in the fun themed days as students learn about prevention.

Open House is next week! We look forward to seeing all of our families! You can visit classrooms anytime between 6:30-8:00pm. Title 1 meetings in the cafeteria will be attended by the parent's last name. Last name A-L will meet in the cafe from 6:30-7:00pm and last names M-Z will meet in the cafe at 7:00pm-7:30pm. See you Tuesday the 24th!
