The National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest is now open for submissions! This year's theme is "Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes." We encourage students to think about what safety means to them and how they view bus drivers and community members as everyday heroes who help ensure they get to school safely. Posters should be submitted to the department's School Transportation Management Section by April 17, 2026. Send entries by U.S. Mail or overnight courier to: Florida Department of Education, NSBSW Poster Contest Administrator, 325 W Gaines Street - Suite 834, Tallahassee FL 32399-0400. Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong autoimmune condition causing the destruction of the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. This means the body can’t control blood sugar (glucose) on its own. Without management of high blood glucose levels, over time it can lead to serious and life-threatening health complications.
