Ms. Marlene Straughan
I am so thrilled to be returning to Triangle Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year! For the second year in a row, we are a 'B' school! I knew from the very beginning Triangle was a special place, and I'm so excited for another fun and successful school year. As you know, we're adding art to our enrichment wheel, and have included steel drums in our music department! We are very excited to bring the arts to life here at Triangle, as well as continue our academic learning each and every day.
Our theme this year is 'ONE TEAM.' The atmosphere here at Triangle is definitely upbeat and I consistently see our faculty and staff working hard to ensure our students are afforded a safe and equitable learning environment. Our faculty and staff, as well as our students, parents and community members certainly work together as one team!
For the 2018-2019 school year, our teachers have three "Collective Commitments;" We will: 1. Ensure Authentic Literacy; our students will be reading, writing, thinking and talking daily; 2. Teachers will plan collaboratively, both vertically and horizontally; and 3. Utilize 'Science Wednesdays' to support the science standards through reading, writing, math and hands-on experiments. Please encourage your child to also read at home every night; your support and involvement is vital to the success of our school.
I am a firm believer in open communication. Should you ever have questions, comments or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me thorough email at email@example.com or by phone at 352-383-6176 ext. 2010. I will always have an open door policy, and look forward to talking with our amazing parents, grandparents and other family members. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Please visit our website often and check our monthly newsletter for important information and upcoming events. We want to keep everyone informed and hope you will become involved with our school. We love seeing visitors and showcasing the wonderful things our students are doing and achieving. I want to thank you again for being a part of Triangle Elementary.
With Manatee Pride,
Marlene L. Straughan
